REGISTERED HEAD NURSE
Ons Huis, a programme of Badisa, has a vacancy for a Registered Head Nurse.
REQUIREMENTS
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.
- Knowledge of the administration and control of scheduled medication.
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable legislation, regulations, norms and standards.
- A participative management style.
- Good interpersonal skills and effective communication skills in both Afrikaans and English.
- Good knowledge of holistic care for older persons.
- Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Good planning and organizational skills.
- Certified copies of all certificates and diplomas, not older than three months, including the SANC receipt and relevant training certificates.
- Professional indemnity insurance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compliance with the Nursing Act, the Scope of Practice and the Older Persons Act.
- Implementation of applicable legislation and regulations.
- Facilitation and management of staff.
- Facilitation of and care for residents.
- Liaison with the multidisciplinary team and residents’ family members.
- Development and implementation of procedures, manuals, policy documents and information materials.
- Maintaining statistics, compiling reports and keeping records of Board meetings as requested.
- Scheduling and management of shifts.
