Some journeys are measured in kilometres. Others are measured in the difference they make along the way.

The annual CA2CX MTB Tour is both.

Each year, cyclists take on a challenging mountain-bike journey starting at Klein Joostenberg, travelling through Worcester, Montagu, Ladismith, Calitzdorp and George before finishing in Knysna.

But the CA2CX is about much more than cycling.

Since 2013, Die Herberg Kinderhuis, a Badisa programme, has been a beneficiary of the CA2CX MTB Tour. What started with just 16 riders has grown into a meaningful annual fundraiser, contributing towards educational programmes and opportunities for children and young people in Herberg’s care.

One of our own takes on the challenge

This year, the CA2CX journey became even more special for Badisa when Reneè Pretorius, Badisa Head Office Social Services Coordinator, took on the 600 km challenge herself.

Taking part in such a demanding ride requires determination, perseverance and plenty of courage. For the Badisa family, it was especially meaningful to see one of our own employees participating in an event that has supported Die Herberg Kinderhuis for so many years.

Reneè did not simply support the cause from the sidelines, she became part of the journey.

The CA2CX Tour is known for bringing together a close-knit group of riders who share the road, encourage one another through the difficult stretches and build connections that last long after the final kilometre.

To every rider, sponsor and supporter who continues to make this journey possible, thank you for helping turn kilometres into opportunities.

And to Reneè, congratulations on taking on this incredible challenge. We are proud to have one of our own pedalling with purpose for Die Herberg Kinderhuis.
