Badisa was honoured to attend the 2026 Western Cape Economy Innovation Awards, hosted by the Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Cape Higher Education Consortium in the beautifully restored Cape Town City Hall.
The event brought together leaders from business, government, academia and civil society, including Western Cape Premier Alan Winde, Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis and representatives from some of the province’s most innovative organisations. A total of 13 awards were presented across six categories, recognising organisations whose innovations are creating measurable economic and social impact across the Western Cape.
As a founding member of the newly launched Cape Chamber NPO Forum, Badisa is proud to be part of a growing movement that recognises the vital role of the non-profit sector in building stronger communities and a more resilient economy.
Reflecting on the evening, Badisa CEO Basie van Wyk said:

Like City Hall, it stands as a testament to the value of preserving our heritage while creating spaces that remain relevant, sustainable and welcoming for the future.”
Monte Rosa remains one of Badisa’s oldest residences and continues to evolve to meet the needs of older persons through quality residential care and life-right opportunities in one of Cape Town’s most iconic locations.
