In 1998, two dedicated women began caring for the children of working parents in a church hall. Later, they moved to smaller rooms, now the offices of Badisa Koue Bokkeveld, and provided care for around 60 children. During this time, they received no salary and used the church building for free.

In 2001, the church needed their space back, forcing the caregivers to relocate to the community hall. For two years, they cared for the children there, tirelessly seeking funds and support. They appealed to the Farmers’ Association for land and a building.

In 2003, their efforts paid off as the new building was handed over, and Trappies Daycare Centre was officially registered for the first time. The initial donation came from a social worker in Worcester, followed by numerous contributions from local farms, shops, and the Women’s Service of the Dutch Reformed Church.

Since 2006, Trappies Daycare Centre has operated as a program of Badisa Koue Bokkeveld, continuing to serve the community with dedication and care.
