In 1989, the Uniting Reformed Church, then known as the Dutch Reformed Mission Church, under the guidance of Rev. WG Cloete, identified the need for a comprehensive ministry to serve the community. This vision led to the establishment of a community service organisation focused on providing support for the elderly, children, youth, the disabled, and job creation initiatives.
The daycare centre began modestly with 10 children, initiated by the parents of the sewing club. In June 1990, the centre was officially established under the banner of Saron Community Service with an initial enrollment of 14 children. Over the years, the centre has seen significant growth and development. Today, it proudly serves 114 children aged between 0 and 5 years old, continuing its mission of nurturing and educating the young members of the community.
