The first Badisa Safety House was established in 2001 on the farm Benooke, addressing the urgent need for suitable safety parents. This project proved to be a success, accommodating around 55 children during its operation. However, on 5 November 2006, an electrical short circuit led to a fire that destroyed the house within minutes, bringing the project to an abrupt halt.

After many prayers and negotiations, the local Theewaterskloof Municipality provided a house in Phillipsdale in 2012. Although initially in poor condition, the home was restored to a comfortable and safe environment where children are cared for with love. Initially, the house accommodated four foster children and had two emergency beds for safety placements.

Due to the lack of subsidies for the home, an agreement was made with the Home From Home Fostering Group scheme, converting it into a foster care home. Since 2012, approximately 24 children have been accommodated. As of 2024, the house provides a loving environment for six children between the ages of 7 and 13. This is truly a house of prayer, and we are deeply grateful to the house parents who ensure a safe and nurturing atmosphere for the children.
