Little Seeds, a programme of Badisa – Preparing children to thrive in a rapidly changing world
In the South African context, embracing and celebrating diversity as a strength of our communities should be emphasised early on in the development of our children as it can serve as a forerunner of inclusion and equity. It can also enhance our ability to prepare, innovate and adapt to an ever-changing world.
Little Seeds responded to the diversity of our stakeholders and target groups by offering a range of Early Childhood Development (ECD) solutions and services to create opportunities for early learning. Our stakeholders span the synodical boundaries of the Dutch Reformed Church (Western Cape) and the Uniting Reformed Church (Cape), and our target groups come from both densely populated areas and remote areas.
The Little Seeds team focused on enabling, supporting and implementing ECD programmes and projects in communities through partnerships and collaboration with other Badisa programmes, congregations, and a network of partners reaching 4 698 children.
Our interventions and services generate awareness of Early Childhood Development and create access to early learning through home-based and community-based programmes and projects, and day care and after-school care centres.
