As the financial year draws to a close in South Africa, businesses and individuals alike have a valuable opportunity to make a real difference by supporting Badisa, an organisation that is dedicated to uplifting the most vulnerable members of society. By contributing to Badisa, not only can you potentially lower your tax bill, but you also play a part in positively impacting lives and communities throughout the country.

Badisa programmes in South Africa

Why donate to Badisa?

By supporting Badisa, you can receive up to 10% of your taxable income as a deduction on your tax return, which means that your contribution not only supports a worthy cause but also has the potential to benefit you financially.

Your contribution has the power to create lasting change throughout South Africa. With over two decades of unwavering commitment to social development, Badisa runs 134 community-based programmes across the Western, Northern and Eastern Cape. In the past fiscal year alone, these programmes have reached 783,444 people nationwide.

How it works

The South African Revenue Service encourages Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs) like Badisa to register as Public Benefit Organisations (PBOs) under Section 30 of the Income Tax Act (ITA) and apply for relevant tax exemptions under Section 18A of the ITA. When you donate to a registered PBO like Badisa, compliant with Section 18A, you become eligible for tax deductions up to certain limits. For companies, any excess donation can be carried over as a deductible donation in the subsequent tax assessment year.

Badisa is fully registered as a PBO authorised to issue Section 18A certificates for both monetary and in-kind donations. When making a donation, whether in cash or goods, you receive a necessary Section 18A receipt from Badisa, which supports your deduction from taxable income.

At Badisa, our vision is caring in action. Your support, through tax-deductible contributions not only allows you to make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable South Africans, but also provides you with the opportunity to actively participate in shaping a brighter and kinder future for all.
